Great Britain / English Great Britain / English Anyone who enjoys spending many hours on model building will quickly realize how important high-quality tools can be. In the beginning and for minor repairs, cheap or aging tools might suffice, but if you truly love your hobby, you’ll eventually get to know and appreciate the right tools.
Below, we’d like to explain some important aspects of making your selection.
Everyone has probably come across this phrase, but nowhere is it as accurate as with tools. The price range between discount products, Chinese imports, and brand-name goods is often enormous. Some people tend to prefer the inevitable bargain, but they often regret the purchase after just a short time. Frequently, inferior materials are used in these “cheap tools,” or the quality of workmanship is simply deficient. As a result, these tools wear out significantly faster or can even lead to damage to your valuable RC models. For example, poor screwdrivers are often not manufactured precisely and can thus “strip” the screw. This happens all too often with hex screws when cheap tools are used. These then often have to be drilled out once the screw is stuck and the hex head is damaged.
Unfortunately, this can also happen quickly with Torx, flathead, Phillips, etc., drives when using poor tools.
The same applies to other tools. In model building, precise needle-nose pliers are particularly important for reaching hard-to-access spots in the models. Cheap pliers are often not optimally adjusted. This manifests as play in the joint or a connection that is pinned too tightly. Often, the two gripping surfaces of the pliers are not exactly aligned, so they never provide a truly firm grip.
The aspects described are just meant to serve as a small example. We’re sure that almost everyone has already had their own experiences with such cheap tools.
For a layperson, the difference between poor or good workmanship and low-quality versus high-quality material selection is difficult to understand.
Our recommendation is therefore to trust well-known brand-name tools. At shops like Tooler.de, you’ll only find tested brand-name goods, which we find to be reasonably priced. Here, you run less risk of falling for inferior products that cause more trouble than joy in the long run. Brand manufacturers generally cannot afford bad reviews and therefore ensure consistent, high product quality.
This is the safest way to go as a consumer. You might pay a bit more initially, but you save yourself a lot of trouble, frustration, and follow-up costs in the long run.

Best Tools ever! Einen Stern ziehe ich dennoch ab, weil es von einer Serie immer leider nicht alle Größen gibt. Schade!
Ich kann euch hier nur zustimmen… FACOM ist das beste Werkzeug was ich habe! Kein Vergleich zu dem Baumarkt Schrott wo man immer wieder Schrauben kaputt macht.
