The tool for your hobby

4.5

Anyone who enjoys spending many hours on model building will quickly realize the significant importance of high-quality tools. For beginners and minor repairs, inexpensive or older tools may suffice, but anyone who truly loves their hobby will sooner or later come to know and appreciate the right tools.
Below, we would like to explain some important aspects of selection.

"Buy cheap, buy twice"

This adage has likely been encountered by everyone, but nowhere is it as fitting as when it comes to tools. The price range here, from discount products and Chinese imports to branded goods, is often enormous. Some people tend to opt for the inevitable bargain, but often they regret the purchase after only a short time. Frequently, inferior materials are used in these “cheap tools,” or the quality of workmanship is simply inadequate. As a result, these tools wear out significantly faster or can even lead to damage to your valuable RC models. For example, poor screwdrivers are often not precisely manufactured and can thus strip the screw head. This happens all too often, especially with Allen screws, when cheap tools are used. These can often only be drilled out if the screw is stuck and the Allen key socket is damaged.
Unfortunately, this can also quickly happen with Torx, slotted, Phillips, etc., drives when using poor tools.
The same applies to other tools. In model building, precise needle-nose pliers are particularly important for reaching hard-to-access areas in the models. Inexpensive pliers are often not optimally adjusted. This manifests as some play in the joint or a connection that is too stiff. Often, the two gripping surfaces of the pliers are not precisely aligned, so they never provide a truly firm grip.
The aspects described are merely intended to serve as a small example. We are certain that everyone has probably already had their own experiences with such cheap tools.

But what really matters?

For the layman, the difference between poor and good workmanship, and between low-quality and high-quality material selection, is often difficult to discern.
Our recommendation is therefore to trust well-known branded tools. In shops like Tooler.de, you will only find tested branded goods, which we consider reasonably priced. Here, you run less risk of encountering inferior products that cause more trouble in the long run than they provide satisfaction. Brand manufacturers generally cannot afford bad reviews and therefore ensure consistent, high product quality.
This way, as a consumer, you choose the safest path. While you may pay a bit more initially, in the long run, you save yourself a lot of trouble, frustration, and follow-up costs.

This is not an advertisement for a specific brand, but I have been using tools from FACOM for a very long time. I would not want to do without this quality.

For example, this screwdriver set (Phillips PZ, Phillips PH, slotted, and Torx) FACOM PROTWIST #AT.J12R2PB

Tools you can rely on.

Best Tools ever!
