My name is Karsten Moebius, I come from Ulm in Germany and I am a passionate hobby modeler. I have been running ScaleMonkey, a platform for model building fans, since 2014.
I have been building models since my childhood – from small glider models to car models in US quarter scale. I am particularly fascinated by how ideas can be implemented in construction and mechanics. A special highlight was the assembly of a Cobra 427 V8 combustion engine kit in 1:4 scale from Gary Conley from the USA.
The 1:4 scale has not become established in car model construction and is increasingly disappearing from the scene. That’s why we focus on the common scales 1:5 and 1:6 today. Our focus is on the detailed reproduction of the era of large combustion engines. The combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern manufacturing processes creates models with a special appeal – each one unique, made with a lot of heart and passion.
Thanks to our many years of contacts with modelers worldwide, we always strive for the highest quality and perfection. ScaleMonkey supports you with tricky questions about construction – be it about components, design or special challenges.

Our models are created here in-house – from the first stroke to the smallest detail – with love and passion. This is how we guarantee you quality and enjoyment of our products, which offer far more than just a cheap price.
We develop our models with the 3D software SolidWorks, so that we know exactly how they will work and look early in the process. This results in precise, true-to-scale components that can withstand even intensive model operation. Our milled parts are manufactured in a high-end CNC milling center in Sankt Augustin – from individual parts to series in certified quality.
