About ScaleMonkey

My name is Karsten Möbius, I come from Ulm in Germany and am a passionate hobby model builder. Since 2014, I have been running ScaleMonkey, a platform for model building enthusiasts.

Since my childhood, I have been involved in building models – from small gliders to US quarter-scale car models. I am particularly fascinated by how ideas can be implemented in design and mechanics. A special highlight was assembling a Cobra 427 V8 internal combustion engine kit in 1:4 scale from Gary Conley in the USA.

The 1:4 scale has not caught on in car model building and is increasingly disappearing from the scene. Therefore, today we focus on the common scales of 1:5 and 1:6. Our focus is on the detailed replication of the era of large internal combustion engines. By combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing processes, models with a special appeal are created – each a unique piece, crafted with great dedication and passion.
