About ScaleMonkey

My name is Karsten Möbius, I am from Ulm in Germany, and I am a passionate hobby model builder. Since 2014, I have been operating ScaleMonkey, a platform for model building enthusiasts.

Since my childhood, I have been involved in building models – from small gliders to US quarter-scale car models. I am particularly fascinated by how ideas can be implemented in design and mechanics. A special highlight was the assembly of a Cobra 427 V8 internal combustion engine kit in 1:4 scale by Gary Conley from the USA.

The 1:4 scale has not established itself in car model building and is increasingly disappearing from the scene. Therefore, we now focus on the common 1:5 and 1:6 scales. Our focus is on the detailed reproduction of the era of large internal combustion engines. By combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing processes, models with a special appeal are created – each one unique, crafted with great dedication and passion.
